Troubleshooting

Have you come across unforeseen problems, disagreements or delays during planning or construction on the Canary Islands?

In my experience the main cause is often a lack of communication. Cultural differences and language barriers make this even worse.

The aim of troubleshooting is to revive communication and avoid time-consuming and costly court proceedings, and to reach an out-of-court settlement. Important steps in this process are:

- listening and putting disagreements into words
- detecting and assessing defects
- establishing responsibility
- compiling reasonable possible solutions
- mediating between the parties involved

As a CAPM and PMI member I am bound by the Code of ethics of the Project Management Institute. Alongside my technical expertise, one of my other strengths is my understanding of both the English as well as the Spanish mentality and language.
